El 1 julio 1988 fue organizada la Misión Panamá de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días. Iniciando el servicio de proselitismo un año después con 80 misioneros.

Durante este tiempo la Obra misional ha tenido un crecimiento significativo debido al constante esfuerzo y servicio de Misioneros de tiempo completo, miembros y lideres del sacerdocio que aman el evangelio y las enseñanzas del Señor.
